Coastal radar with quasicontinuous radiation «Obzor»

New generation radar «Obzor» uses technology called «High-energy beam». This new technology of receiving signals has never been used before in navigation radars. High-energy beam is emission of low-power but long duration signals, as a result that makes energy of the reflected from the target signal higher. This technology allows to increase the search area and makes the search process of small targets easier using over 100 times less power than traditional magnetron radars.

Solid-state transceiver

«Obzor» has fully solid-state transceiver and lacks magnetron and high-voltage modulator. Output device is transistor amplifier. Transceiver designed for outdoor using and has no regulatory components.

Fully digital processing

All control and output transceiver signals are digital. Transceiver and computer are connected by Gb Ethernet. Main procedures for signals processing and formation are made in the computer.

Doppler selection

Doppler selection allows to separate moving targets from stationary targets and to improve target observation on the bottoming surface reflection.

Radar is not sensitive to interference from other radars and doesn’t provide them with a noise. Indicator and transceiver are connected in digital form by Gigabit Etherner. Cable length is up to 100m.

Radar «Obzor» provides:

  • Detection of surface and low-flying air targets;
  • Fast (during one revolution of the antenna) selection of moving and stationary targets with the indication of the approaching and receding targets;
  • Manual or automatic target capture for tracking with elements of the movement definition;
  • Visual or automatic detection of targets crossing border control areas and signal to prevent unauthorized access;
  • Indication of target parameters;
  • Delivery target coordinates and parameters into television system;
  • Electronic archiving of radar data.

Additional features of radar «Obzor»

Mode «Meteo»

  • Detection of low-flying air targets, including hazardous hydrometeorological objects with a color rendering of the measured amplitude and Doppler characteristics;
  • Measuring the amplitude and radial velocity objects observed on the screen;
  • Excision (removal of the screen) of objects with a certain Doppler velocity;
  • Manual or automatic capture of local meteorological tracking of objects in the calculation of motion parameters;
  • An audible and the color warning signal of the input objects in the protected zone;
  • Delivery of radar image and the parameters of targets in other systems using standard interfaces;
  • Electronic archiving of radar data.

Design department does great work to improve quality of radar products and creates new samples that are needed on the market now.
